...they are compostable!
If you have ever received a parcel from us, you may have wondered about our packaging. They are black and don't necessarily look appealing. This is where the big BUT comes into play. Because you can compost this packaging. The shipping bags are made from a compostable bioplastic consisting of:
- Corn starch
- Polylactide from corn waste and other plants
- Polybutyrate adipate terephthalate derived from petroleum and designed to be rapidly and safely biodegradable.
Nobody wants to find an intact plastic bag in their compost. That would be really unpleasant! So what's the best way to dispose of our Dirt Bags? The AS 5810 symbol guarantees that the bag is compostable and non-toxic to worms. Make sure you remove all labels and seals from the bag. Then put the empty envelope in your home compost. Moisture, heat and the worms will do the rest. The result is nutrient-rich humus that you can use for your indoor or garden plants.
